Tikkun Olam: Repairing the World

In Jewish teachings, Tikkun Olam is any activity that improves the world, bringing it closer to the harmonious state for which it was created. Tikkun Olam implies that while the world is inherently good, God purposely left room for us to improve it and make it better.

All activities provide opportunities to improve the world, and we can all be involved in Tikkun Olam. Whoever you are, you can be involved in Tikkun Olam and help us repair the world.

The Social Action Committee of Congregation Beit Simcha will sponsor and participate in many projects throughout the year that express the Congregation's commitment to Tikkun Olam. Here are some examples of upcoming social action projects:

Rabbi's Pantry. The first day of Religious School this year the children will stock and prepare bags of non-perishable food for individuals in need.

The Congregation will be sponsoring several other Social Action projects throughout the year. Check back here to get information on upcoming projects that you might want to participate in.
